Thai Yoga Massage Craniosacral

ABOUT

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on approach, whose origins come from the practice of Osteopathy. The craniosacral rhythm is the internal manifestation of health and vitality of the human body and directly connected with the function of homeostasis (state of physiological balance). It also recognizes the interconnection between mind and body (psychosomatic)- traumatic life events can manifest either on a physical or an emotional level, as disease, dysfunction or poor healing.

By exploring its basic elements and biomechanics, we will find ways to release the tensions and work with the imbalances that obstruct these natural subtle motions. Craniosacral Therapy can facilitate, support and optimise the innate propensity of the body to balance, restore and heal itself.

COURSE CONTENT

During these 5 days we will focus on the Craniosacral rhythm by learning the secrets of this magical force, which we will feel thumping through palpation and blend it with our knowledge of Thai Yoga massage.

Our goal is to learn how to tune into the subtle motions that are taking place, to integrate it in between our techniques, thus providing the space and encouraging its natural expression on our mat, from the perspective of the biodynamical intervention.

The course is addressed to Thai massage and similar types of bodywork practitioners, as well as individuals who are interested in the Craniosacral rhythm.

THE FACILITATOR

Vangelis Varis was born in Athens, Greece, and the last 19 years he lives in the island of Evia with his family. He was introduced to the oriental arts through Tai Chi and Yoga, after that it was easy to flow with the beauty of Thai Yoga massage.

At the Sunshine House he met his first, and very special teacher and mentor, (Krishna)Takis, who has been a strong influence since 2009. Many other amazing teachers came on his way and shaped his practice: David Lutt, Arno L’Hermitte, Rosemary Wallach, Felicity Joy, Gabriele Schüers, Pau Castellsague, Itzhak Helman. Always a student, yet with some of them, also an assistant and therapist in their courses since 2012 around Greece and abroad (Vienna, Zurich and more). Other techniques that have greatly influenced him are OsteoThai, Chi Nei Chang, Lomi-Lomi massage, but Craniosacral therapy has been his greatest passion and talent.

Since 2016, deeply inspired by the scientific western approach of Osteopathy, he has began a new journey at SICO (Swiss International College of Osteopathy), which has provided him with a unique touch in his treatments and has greatly influenced his teachings.

Vangelis seeks healing through massage and music sounds. To achieve it, he attends poliphony and dancing classes and is also a musician- he loves percussion, while his latest passion is santur, thus indulging into greek-eastern traditional melodies and rhythms, along with the music bands “Fistiki Saloni” and “Eziak”.
